Discusion about Earth Charter and Videos

• What was your favorite principle?
My favorite principle is “Respect and care for the community of life”

• Write down your understanding of this principle. I understand this principle to mean that each and every one of us on earth has a contribution to make be it on the micro or macro. We all have different talents but we need to work together to realize our individual dreams.

• Why you chose it: I chose it because we need to work to reject acts of discrimination, including those based on race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, and religious or political beliefs.

• Give two examples of where this principle is used? Under the Earth Charter Preamble, it has been use under The Challenges Ahead: “The choice is ours: form a global partnership to care for Earth and one another or risk the destruction of ourselves and the diversity of life.” And under
Universal Responsibility: “… we must decide to live with a sense of universal responsibility, identifying ourselves with the whole Earth community as well as our local communities”

• How can you apply it in your own life? Do you already do so? Yes! I’m using this principle to get on with my day to day work. I seek partnerships and networks to share my story and work. I identify those interested in working to serve peoples’ lives in local communities and network with them.

The video presentations are great. The backgrounds are wonderful. Some of the pictures show how children are suffering this attracts sorrow, but at the same time it is inspiring. It's nice to continue watching. The workshops are held in very Sophisticated environments and the partnicipants are but the rich I guess. Is it possible for indigenous people to attend such workshops?
